The mission of Beautiful People is realized primarily through the work of volunteers.
Here’s how you can participate:
Athlete “buddies” Buddies are age 12+. You are paired with an athlete and will assist them during programs. Buddies are able-bodied peers from the community and families of players. You do not need prior sports experience, but it is very helpful. Volunteer time needed – just a few hours the day of the game.
Experienced Team Coaches As a team coach, your job is to provide an engaging, fun, and safe environment for our athletes! Coaches should arrive early to each program with a concise plan of action for the day; including skills, drills and learning objects to support athletes based on their individual needs. Volunteer time needed – just a few hours the day of programs.
Assistant Coaches The day of the game, you’ll help the coach by assisting at the sign-in table. Your job is to take attendance, help pair an athlete with his/her buddy and help coach with program drills/activities. Volunteer time needed – just a few hours the day of the game. Arrive early for each session.
Team Coordinators Arrive early to host sign-in table and distribute team shirts at the start of programs. Note each athlete’s shirt number for the Coaches’ clipboards. Give the attention needed to new parents so they feel welcomed and informed. Cheer and encourage the athletes’ and their buddies. Repack Team bin neatly and turn sign-in sheets. Volunteer time needed—1/2 hour before games until end of game.
